Internship Agreement Signed with NHH

We are pleased to announce that we have signed an internship agreement with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). The agreement was officially signed at a ceremony that took place at the Norwegian Embassy on November 27.

Participants at the signing ceremony included, besides NHH and NCCJ, representatives of the Norwegian Embassy, Innovation Norway, Corporate Members and previous interns at Laerdal Medical Japan.

The Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) is one of the leading business school in Norway and Europe.
They have a student exchange program with Japanese universities and regularly send students to Japan. To further increase the relevance of their education, NHH has created an “Internship Abroad Program”. In this program, students will do an internship at companies outside Norway. The program is an integrated part of the curriculum and the students get student credits if they complete a minimum of 4 weeks internship. There is thus no need for the company to pay a salary to the interns, who are also are covered by student insurance and visa during their stay at the company.

At the signing ceremony, Merete Ånes, Senior Consultant from the Section for International Relations, and Kristin Rygg, Associate Professor of Professional Language and Intercultural Communication participated from NHH and gave a brief introduction to the program, before the agreement was signed by the NCCJ President, Mr. Svend Haakon Kristensen.

NCCJ will support NHH in implementing this program in Japan and will facilitate internships for about 8 students every year, and we believe having interns from a leading business school should be valuable for our members. By supporting this program we will add value to the NHH education, and graduates with internship experience from Japan should be valuable for the Norwegian industry.

This upcoming spring we are welcoming the 4 first interns to Japan, and they have all received their placements (NCCJ, Laerdal Medical Japan and AVR Japan). We are looking forward to bringing you exciting news and updates during their stay. But we are also looking for more companies who would be interested in receiving an intern for the next round - so if you want to learn more about the program and discuss the possibilities here, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
