The Inspiring Hokuo – the Image of the Nordics in Japan from the Travel Industry Perspective
The first edition of Nordic Share & Connect was kicked off at Hyvää Matkaa! in Omotesando Wednesday March 22nd. NCCJ member Finn Corporation invited members of all the Nordic Chambers in for a presentation about how to use the Nordic image, Hokuo, in the travel industry in Nordic surroundings of their event space and cafe, Hyvää Matkaa!.
Ms. Shino Mikamo and Ms. Noora Sirola presented how they have utilized the positive image of Hokuo in the marketing of the travel industry as well as in their launch of Hyvää Matkaa!. They further explained how the Nordic image has evolved through time and how this image of the Nordics can be used in other industries.
Following the presentation, the party was offered Nordic snacks, finger food and drinks. The event provided opportunities for networking and connecting with members of the other Nordic Chambers and businesses. We thank Finn Corp. for opening the doors to Hyvää Matkaa! and for hosting the very first Nordic Share & Connect.

Nordic Share & Connect is a networking event collaboration with the Nordic Chambers NCCJ, FCCJ, ISCCJ, DCCJ & SCCJ (Nordic Net•Works) aimed at connecting Nordic companies in Japan. A member company of a Nordic Chamber of Commerce opens its doors to its fellow Nordic Chamber members to share their insights and experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded professionals from the Nordic business community, and to learn about successful business strategies, as well as potential challenges, in the Japanese market.
