[Event Report] Norwegian Maritime Decarbonization Forum

On April 21st 2026 the NCCJ held the Norwegian Maritime Decarbonization forum as a pre Sea Japan event together with Innovation Norway and the Commercial and Technology Section of the Norwegian Embassy. The event was held at Aurora Hall at the Norwegian Embassy and had about 60 participants including NCCJ member companies, Norwegian Maritime Exporters(NME) and a significant number of representatives of Japanese companies exhibiting at Sea Japan.

Michal Berg of the Norwegian Embassy’s Commercial and Technology Section chaired the forum. NCCJ Board Member Jon Tarjei Kråkenes of Wallenius Wilhelmsen held the keynote speech introducing Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s operations and decarbonization efforts in Japan and worldwide. After the keynote speech 15 minute presentations were held in turn by sponsor companies Navtor, Dualog, Corvus Energy and Metizoft. Given the mixed background of the participants and the complex topics at hand simultaneous Japanese/English translation was made available for the event.

After the presentations concluded Norwegian Embassy Counselor Oddbjørn Lunde welcomed everyone to a dinner reception at the Ambassador’s residence which concluded at around 20:00.  Some participants attended the reception dinner only.

This event brought together experts and global leaders in a field where Japanese and Norwegian interests strongly intersect. We offer our sincere gratitude to special contricutors Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Corvus Energy, Navtor, Dualog and Metizoft.

NCCJ has 24 corporate member companies within the maritime sector.  We are very much looking forward to following up this event with a Norway Maritime event this autumn.
