The NCCJ held its Annual General Meeting on February 2, 2023, at the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo – the first AGM in person since 2020. The meeting was attended by members of the NCCJ, who gathered to review the organization's performance in the previous year and to plan for the future.

After Chairperson Kristensen’s welcome, Ambassador Inga Nyhamar shared a few words with the members present, emphasizing the important collaboration between the embassy and the NCCJ and continued wish to support Norwegian business in Japan. During the meeting, the NCCJ's financial reports were presented and discussed, and the members elected a new board of directors to lead the organization for the next year.
Vice Chairperson Yuruzu Goto, presented the NCCJ Roadmap 2026. The roadmap has been developed by the NCCJ board of directors throughout 2022, and covers the way forward for NCCJ the next 3 years and beyond. The roadmap received the support of the NCCJ members present at the AGM.

The newly elected board members were Mr. Loftur Thorarinsson from Volue and Mr. Shuichi Hikichi from Hoegh Autoliners. The board of directors will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the NCCJ and ensuring that it continues to serve the needs of its members. In addition, with the current General Manager Simen Aasen’s departure from the NCCJ in Q2, the new General Manager Fredrikke Valentina Sadowski Matsunaga attended the AGM and was introduced to the members. Ms. Matsunaga will begin her engagement in the NCCJ on March 1.

After the formal AGM program, the Svein Grandum, head of Innovation Norway Norway, held a Business Highlight Talks, featuring guest speakers (Proximar, Freyr and Fuglen) who discussed current business trends and opportunities in Japan and Norway. Attendees had the opportunity to network with each other and hear about the NCCJ's upcoming events and initiatives.

The NCCJ Annual General Meeting was a successful event that provided valuable insights into the organization's performance and plans for the future. The NCCJ will continue to provide support and opportunities for its members in the coming year under the leadership of the newly elected board.
