Summer Intern from Norway

With internship agreements already established, the NCCJ continues to provide opportunities and benefit from the competence of hard-working and skilled interns. This summer and based in Norway, Vetle Storvik is contributing to the NCCJ with projects related to enhancing our value creation.

I’m Vetle, 21 years old from Oslo, Norway. My relationship with Japan is that I have always been fascinated by the rich culture of the country. From January 2019 to August 2020 I worked as a cross country ski coach in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. I did this through the JET Program, an organisation hiring foreign people to educate Japanese students in English or sports. At the moment I’m studying engineering at Norway’s largest university, NTNU in Trondheim, and will start my second year there in August.

During the internship, I will analyze the services the chamber provides and try to improve them to make sure our members are benefitting properly from all that the NCCJ can offer. I will also find out what we provide at the moment that can be replaced by new and better services. In addition to this, I will also be running our social platforms in an attempt to gain more followers, so that we can offer our members free marketing to an even larger audience in the future.

Ever since I left Japan last year I have been waiting to go back to visit the country. I might not be able to go back physically, but at least I can work in a Japanese environment, and help from Norway. I am also very interested in international cooperation between Norway and other countries. As a Japan-lover, I especially want to promote a good relationship between our two countries. I can’t wait to get to know all our members better, and work to help them as much as possible!
