The Digital Voyage: Eight Stages
The maritime industry is entering a new phase in which operational excellence increasingly depends on how effectively ships, people and information are connected. At the same time, shipowners and ship managers face growing pressure from regulatory requirements, decarbonization, rising costs, cybersecurity risks, crewing challenges and increasingly complex vessel operations.
How can digital solutions be combined to create real operational value across the fleet? The Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo invites professionals from the Japanese maritime
industry to join Norwegian maritime solution providers for a practical exploration of the journey towards becoming a truly digital shipowner. Structured around “The Digital Voyage: Eight Stages”, the seminar will examine how complementary digital capabilities can support safer, more efficient and more resilient vessel operations.
The Digital Voyage: Eight Stages
1. Understand the Challenge
2. Connect Ship and Shore
3. Enable Secure Information Flows
4. Integrate Operational Systems
5. Turn Data into Decisions
6. Digitize the Supply Chain
7. Develop the Digital Workforce
8. Build Trust and Resilience
Maritime Networking Reception Following the seminar, participants are invited to a networking reception hosted by the Norwegian Ambassador. The reception will provide an opportunity for members of the Japanese and Norwegian maritime communities to continue the discussion, establish new contacts and explore opportunities for future cooperation.
