Norwegian Seafood Council:
Visit by the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries
Last week the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries, Mr. Harald Nesvik visited us at the Norwegian Embassy as a part of his one-week trip organized by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) to meet with representatives of Japanese and Norwegian business partners. NCCJ joined NSC and the rest of Team Norway for a reception at the Embassy with Mr. Nesvik on March 14th, which was a great opportunity for us to meet with representatives of the seafood sector. As one of the most important fields for Norway, we are also looking to increase our efforts to promote Norwegian seafood along with NSC and Team Norway, and hope that this reception can lead to increased possibilities for this in the near future. As they say in NSC: Sabarashii!

TOMRA Sortings K.K.: Press Event
Our Corporate Member TOMRA Sortings K.K. visited us at the Norwegian Embassy for a press briefing in the Aurora Hall on Wednesday 20th March. The event was led by Managing Director Megumi Sasaki, who gave a thorough presentation of TOMRA’s work to increase the percentage of waste getting recycled in Japan. She could tell that although TOMRA already has the equipment to effectively turn much of our waste into reusable material one of their biggest challenges is to convince Japanese companies to utilize such materials for their products. While Japan is known for being good at sorting their trash most of the waste still end up getting burned or in landfills rather than reused. With over 10 years of operating in Japan, TOMRA is doing a tremendous effort to change this culture, and we hope to see their increased success in the years to come.
Did you know that Corporate Members of NCCJ are eligible to rent the Aurora Hall at the Norwegian Embassy? → More info here.
